FooDibs Application Privacy Policy and KVKK Information Text

This Privacy Policy and Personal Data Protection Law (KVKK) Information Text has been prepared to explain how your personal data is collected, processed, stored, and transferred when you use the "FooDibs" mobile application (hereinafter referred to as the "Application").

By using the Application, you consent to the data collection and usage practices described in this policy.

1. What Data Do We Collect?

To provide you with a better experience and to perform the core functions of the application (finding restaurants, adding reviews, uploading photos), we collect the following personal data:

• Identity and Contact Information: Your name, surname, username, and email address.
• Profile Information: The profile picture you upload to the application.
• Location Information (With Device Permission): Your real-time "approximate" and "precise" location data (GPS data) so we can show you the nearest restaurants and let you see your location on the map (subject to your permission).
• Camera and Gallery Data (With Device Permission): When you want to share photos for restaurants and recipes or update your profile picture, access is provided to your camera or your device's storage (photo gallery). Only the photos you choose and upload are transmitted to our servers.
• Device and Usage Data: IP address, device model, operating system version, and in-app navigation information may be collected anonymously to resolve application errors and improve performance.

2. Purposes of Processing Personal Data

Your collected personal data is processed in accordance with the conditions specified in Articles 5 and 6 of the KVKK Law No. 6698 for the following purposes:

• Creating and managing user accounts,
• Listing nearby restaurants and recipes for you,
• Enabling in-app interaction (reviewing, rating, adding photos),
• Ensuring application security and preventing potential fraudulent usage,
• Improving our services, identifying, and troubleshooting errors.

3. Cross-Border Transfer of Personal Data

To ensure high reliability and performance, our application's database and server infrastructure are hosted on cloud servers located outside of Turkey.

In this context, your personal data, including name, surname, email, profile picture, location data, and other content you upload to the application, is transferred to and stored on servers abroad based on your Explicit Consent within the scope of Article 9 of the KVKK. By using the application and creating an account, you consent to the storage of your data on servers abroad.

4. Sharing Personal Data with Third Parties

Your personal data may only be shared with authorized public institutions and organizations within the framework of legal obligations. Otherwise, your data is never sold or transferred to third parties for advertising or unauthorized purposes. Trustworthy third-party analysis tools such as Google Play Services (with anonymized data) may be used for application analytics and crash reporting.

5. Data Security, Retention, and Data Deletion Policy

We use HTTPS encryption and industry-standard security measures to protect your data against unauthorized access, modification, or deletion. Your personal data is stored as long as your account is active or for the duration required by our legal storage obligations.

Account and Data Deletion: Users can request the deletion of their accounts and all associated personal data at any time from the "Profile > Settings" menu inside the application or by sending an email to [email protected]. When you create an account deletion request, your account will be suspended. Your account is safely stored for a grace period of 15 days. If you log back into the application within this 15-day period, your deletion request will be canceled, and you can continue using your account. At the end of the 15 days, all your data, except for data legally required to be retained, will be permanently deleted from our servers.

6. Content Moderation and Approval Process

FooDibs is committed to providing a safe, respectful, and helpful community environment for all our users. Accordingly, all content you share within the application (reviews, restaurant ratings, recipes, and photos) is subject to a review and approval process by our moderation team before or upon publication.

Any content found to be in violation of our community guidelines, public decency, copyrights, or legal regulations, or content that is misleading, offensive, spam, or promotional, may be rejected or removed from publication by our moderation team. The moderation of user-submitted content is conducted to maintain community quality and ensure a secure platform.

7. Children's Privacy

Our application is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 13. If such a case is detected, the relevant data is immediately deleted from our systems.

8. Your Rights Under Article 11 of the KVKK

As a data subject, you have the following rights under Article 11 of the KVKK:

• To learn whether your personal data is being processed,
• To request information if your data has been processed,
• To learn the purpose of processing and whether it is used in accordance with the purpose,
• To know the third parties to whom data is transferred domestically or abroad,
• To request correction if it is processed incompletely or incorrectly,
• To request deletion or destruction within the framework of the conditions provided in Article 7 of the KVKK.
